Groundhopping is attending matches at different stadiums or grounds. People doing this are known as groundhoppers. It originates from soccer fans (the Europeans call it football). European football fans doing ground hopping typically travel into other countries and watch games of other teams. Usually they do not watch games of their hated opponents. Hated opponents is something really common in Europe as there are very old derbies and this is also given due to large cultural differences that can be found in Europe. Several sources attribute that groundhopping is especially popular in the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden and Norway.
